The Special Air Service of the British Army was formed during World War II, and have seen action in every decade of its existence, including Operation Granby / Desert Storm in the Kuwait Theatre of Operations 1991. Prior to and upon initiation of hostilities, SAS combat units were already deep behind enemy lines, busy carrying out clandestine missions on a bold and creative spectrum, including indigenous resistance, long-range recon, active sabotage, as well as Scud hunting missions.
