1979: Revolution in Iran is a national-level strategic game covering the year from Mossadegh to Khomeini. Unlike most games set during Cold War, in 1979: Revolution in Iran, tha actors are the Iranian people. The Americans, British, and Soviets are bit players in the drama.
One player represents the Coatlition, pushig to nationalize the oil industry and, later, as the opposition to Shah and forces of autocracy and scularization. As the Royalist player, your objective is to maintain the Shah in power, fighting to create "modern" state beyond religious influence.
1979 is a card-driven game for two players. What makes it different from other event card games is that players select their cards each turn rather than receive from a random draw. Players get to choose their hand each turn.
Do you have what it takes to sustain Mossadegh in power? If Mossadegh is removed, what happens with the Shah's government over the course of decades? The future is in your hands!
Please note: this is english-language version of the game
